April was very kind this season to the Sioux Falls Uber Giraffes as they spent 17 of their 24 games played in April on the road. The road record was a very respectable 11-6 while they gave fans at home something to see when they were around going 5-1 in the two series they played.

The new guys in the front office wasted no time attacking the salary blight that was threatening the financial stability of the Colorado Everest. After some spirited negotiations with four teams, general manager Joe Geoghegan announced a multi-player deal with the Carson City Silver Strikers. Being right at the salary cap stopped the Oshawa Generals from going after any free agents during the offseason. A few attempts at trades has also met with frustration. Last week before the winter meetings Sioux Falls brought in ace pitcher Ramon Cruz. This week as the winter meetings close the Uber Giraffes unload some more depth to fill in some voids at starting pitcher.
