About

Its February 2009 and Alex Rodriguez was just caught with taking steroids in baseball. The steroid trail went farther than that and eventually there became a sudden cry for a baseball league that was clean from steroids, performance enhancing drugs, lack of moral character in the players in general.

With that in mind a group of unnamed investors gave a large sum of money to the appointed commissioner Jordan “JWay” Gillis to create a Union of franchises to compete with Major League Baseball. The business plan included a salary cap, strict punishments for any performance enhancing drugs, and a more classic version of baseball.

Any player that stepped onto a Major League Baseball field was banned from the league for a minimum of five years and had to subject himself to several random tests while waiting to prove himself to be a clean player for the CBU.

The Classic Baseball Union is defined as a organization full of high character individuals who support clean classic baseball. The league will mirror major league baseball in many ways, but the significant differences will be based on the good will of the players who make the league. Penalties will be harsh for off the field issues, and no performance enhancers will be tolerated in any circumstance.

One unnamed investor had this to say, “We are tired of watching people who do not love to play baseball the way it was meant to be played, we want good wholesome players who play their hearts out. The time of steroids, HGH, creams, cheating, and players getting in trouble with the law are over. We have the players give a certain amount of time back to communities, and we want these guys to be the real hero’s for America’s children.”

Many skeptics wonder if there is room for two leagues, but the overall feelings agree that the Classic Baseball Union’s bar has been set very high and if the players, officials, and the fans follow through it has the potential to overtake Major League Baseball as it self destructs.

Owners for the franchises are being recruited as we speak and we hope to have doors open for the 2009 season.
