Finally! Rapid City Outlaws outlast Blue Sox

Rapid City Outlaws
At Curley Grimes Memorial Field today Rapid Cityoutclassed the Brooklyn Blue Sox 8-3 and won the Classic Baseball Union The CBU Championship Series for the 1st time in its club history.
The Outlaws rounded out the 2016 season with a 102-60 mark and wound up in first place in the Landis League Frazee Division pennant chase.
The Outlaws can finally shake off the curse of Robert Coté as they grab their first championship ten years after Cote’s first in Dijon. The Outlaws had been notorious for letting talent walk year after year, but it has changed now.
The Outlaws dominated the 2016 campaign with the likes of Eric Brown (21-8 2.97 ERA), Herman Sorensen (18-6, 3.09 ERA), Matt Everett (.281 37 HR 95 RBI), Dave Walker (.246 21 HR 89 RBI). The line up and pitching staff were solid from top to bottom.
Rapid City led or was at the top of the Landis League in almost all relevant team statistics, most meaningful, leading the league in runs allowed and runs scored. Rapid City’s formula for success seems easy to sustain, if you can continue to score more runs than anyone, and allow less runs than anyone, you should be able to win lots of games.
Landis League, Landis League, Landis League…The Classic Baseball Union is continued to being dominated by the Landis League. Again peeling off a 3 championship winning streak, the Landis League has won 9 of the last 11 championships in the CBU.
