Dijon selects Ed Wade Number One

January 1994 – Dijon made history today by starting off the Classic Baseball Union Inaugural draft by selecting outfielder Ed Wade from St. Petersberg Florida.

The left hander is just 22 years old and choose the CBU over MLB by staying in college and graduating from Florida State University. The gamble paid off, as Wade was given a signing bonus and is written as a CBU starter right off the bat.

The Moutarde have a potential franchise cornerstone set right out of the gates. The entire draft completed throughout the week and players are being asked to report to the first CBU Spring Training later this year in February.
