Dijon Moutarde 1994 CBU Champions

Dijon MoutardeOctober 27, 1994 – The Classic Baseball Union crowned its first champions. Dijon controlled their way through the regular season, playoffs and world series with hammering the rest of the league. Dijon averaged 6.3 runs a game during the season and their pitchers controlled offenses down to just 5.1 runs allowed per game. That is a recipe for success.

Dijon hitters lead the Landis League in stolen bases, runs scored, and finished second in batting average, OBP, SLG, OPS, Hits, Walks and strikeouts. The Moutarde hurlers lead the league in ERA, and allowed second fewest free passes in the Landis League.

First overall pick Ed Wade clobbered 43 homeruns for the Canadien squad but was regulated to cheer leader through the playoff campaign after suffering a concussion earlier this month.

Roosevelt Shafer was the leagues best pitcher and was award the Sandy Koufax pitcher of the year award base don his 22-7 3.45 ERA performance. Dijon drafted Brown with the last pick in the 2nd round.

Dijon beat Green in the CBU Championship four games to one, after beating Denver four games to one as well in the Landis League Championship.
