Bar incident reveals potential new franchise.

October 1992: After a brief altercation in a Las Vegas club, T.M. “Koz” Kozlowski was acquitted of all harassment charges. Mr. Kozlowski was accused of throwing a beer at a pair of gentlemen who turned out to be Major League Basball officials. Koz was removed from his private VIP section after smashing a beer glass against a wall in a attempt to strike one of the two gentlemen. Koz insists the two men started the argument.

Guests in the VIP section described the altercation to be a verbal battle between the three men that quickly turned heated and resulted in Koz losing his temper:

“Koz was screaming about something to do with baseball in Buffalo. The other men said he was wasting his time and money, and were asking him to invest in one of their organizations. Koz told them his idea would work, said something about him needing to be in control, and that he would bring baseball glory to Buffalo” – an unidentified witness.

“I was enjoying my drink and I heard some screaming and yelling back and forth, then I saw that man pick up his beer glass and chuck it wildly. Then there was screams and the two men ran out” – another witness.

“Koz tossed his beer glass, and started chanting BUFFALO! BUFFALO! BUFFALO! I thought he had lost his mind and was tripping something fierce” – a third winess.

The men involved in the altercation could not be reached for comment, but one of the club’s bouncers provided the following quote:

“That Koz character was talking about baseball in Buffalo all night. When the two men approached him, they handed him some papers and stated the words ‘business proposal.’ Koz pushed the papers back and mumbled something to the effect that he was involved in a new league that would someday replace the MLB. The men laughed at him and said he would not make any money in a competition with the MLB. Then Koz started yelling about championships, Buffalo, and baseball. Before I could attempt to break up the yelling, Koz threw the beer glass and the other bouncers tackled him.”

Nobody was injured in the altercation, but this was the second ever public mention of a competitive baseball league that was not MLB.
